Motawi Tile House Numbers – Tudor Rose
I had wanted to go down to the Motawi shop for a few years now, mostly because the shop is attached to the studio where all the tiles are made, decorated, and fired. They give tours of the tile making process every week, but it’s on Thursday during the middle of the afternoon . SO, the sale being on a Saturday was a better bet.
AMAZING. I wanted to buy everything. They have tiles for installations (fireplaces, floors, fountains, kitchens, bathrooms), decorative tile, and now address tile.
I wanted to buy these, but held back! (Click for link to the website)
Drool…. We did end up buying some tiles though – new house numbers. Since we are giving the house a curb appeal makeover with new foundation plantings and flagstone walkway, updating the house numbers just made sense.
The sale included first and second tiles. My understanding that “firsts” are what they sell in the store, and “seconds” are the oops tiles that get a little messed up in the production process. If you don’t mind a little oops in your life then you can save a lot of money buying seconds. We were able to purchase two of the house numbers as seconds – from the street you can’t tell the difference.
We live in a brick house so there were a few extra tools needed:
- power drill ( but ha hammer drill would have been better)
- masonry screws
- masonry drill bit
